Today, I went to watch It’s A Great Great World with my cousin & grandma.
Just a little introduction of the movie…
“It’s A Great Great World” is set in Singapore’s legendary amusement park named Great World, which was also affectionately known in Hokkien as ‘Tua Seh Kai’. Spanning from the 1940s to the present day, the film presents four tales centred around attractions within these once famous walls. These four stories includes:
- A clown on a quest to have his photo taken with American starlet Elizabeth Taylor.
- The tale of a carnival shooting gallery operator who experiences her first teenage love with a medicinal oil seller.
- A washed up diva who rediscovers love when she falls for her manager.
- A lok-lok seller who narrates his wedding to his mute wife.
This film signifies the stories of a multitude of characters that lived, worked, played, sang danced and even fell in love in Great World.

Review:
I like the movie because it is nice with entertainment value and quality. The dialogue of the movie was all almost spoken in dialect with Singlish here and there, in which, I felt it’s a so Singaporean film that all of us must watch. The four different stories, I felt, were very heart-warming and nostalgic even though I have never even see before the real actual Great World amusement park. In addition, the movie is super hilarious! It is a movie that all different age group people can go and watch!
So I will rate it…
4.0/5.0
